The pickup problem
A pickup is asked to do two things that pull in opposite directions. It has to carry and tow, which wants stiff springs and firm damping. And it has to be driven empty most days, which wants the opposite. Factory setups split the difference and satisfy neither.
The LM series addresses that split rather than picking a side.

Why monotube matters on a lift kit
Twin-tube dampers hold their oil and gas in the same body, separated only by an emulsion. Worked hard — a washboard trail, a long descent with a loaded bed — the oil aerates and damping falls away. That is fade, and on a heavy vehicle a long way from a road it is not a comfort issue.
A monotube separates oil and gas with a floating piston, and puts the damping oil directly against the outer wall where it can shed heat. It holds its damping when a twin-tube would be giving up.
